Job Summary

This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) within the Office of Communications. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. The location is negotiable after selection; this is not a remote position. Selectee must report in person to a DOL office.

Key Responsibilities

Duties for the Communications Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following: Establishing and maintaining contacts with national, regional and local media representatives. Independently monitoring workplace safety and health social media communities. Coordinating with the OSHA directorates to determine appropriate information/resources to promote and ensure relevancy and consistency of messages across multiple networks.

Developing detailed annual plan for media relations and public information. Compiling information and draft speeches, with accompanying graphics, for delivery by management at various public events.

Requirements & Education

If your education was completed at a foreign college or university, you must show comparability to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States and comparability to applicable minimum coursework requirements for this position.
