The primary purpose of this position is to inspect surfaces for damage, integrity, deviations, and other out of tolerance conditions affecting Low Observable (LO) coatings and make sure they are within acceptable trade standards and specifications, and the organization is producing quality work.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect all composite or plastic parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, or structures with straight and curved surfaces having a number of interconnecting parts and components that have been repaired, modified, or overhauled. Perform a complete inspection of equipment, all aircraft surfaces for damage, integrity, deviations, and other out of tolerance conditions affecting Low Observable (LO) coatings and related components after work has been completed on the aircraft.
Conduct and witness inspections and tests on a variety of fabricated and repair work performed by others on structural and nonstructural airframe components, equipment, and completed airframes affecting LO coatings and related components. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
This position is with Air Force Materiel Command, Department of the Air Force.
