The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Activates, monitors, and controls job distribution and resource allocation for special processing requirements to link internal operating systems and utility programs with application programs, peripheral equipment, teleprocessing and input/output channels. Monitors systems status and performance, observes and responds to system messages, and defines, isolates, and resolves a wide range of common equipment and operating problems, failures and malfunctions. Assists in developing new or revised operating procedures. Run and monitor test programs to identify problems or potential for obvious problems such as memory overload. Corrects or adjusts priorities and workflow by reconfiguring equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
