As a Computer Scientist (Artificial Intelligence), you will perform the following duties: Independently designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains software applications and artificial intelligence solutions supporting agency programs and enterprise modernization initiatives. Develops and implements machine learning models, predictive analytics solutions, and automation tools supporting organizational priorities.
Analyzes business requirements and translates functional needs into technical software solutions. Applies professional computer science principles to ensure software quality, maintainability, reliability, scalability, and security. This position may be filled at the GS-9 or GS-11 level, with promotion potential to the GS-13 level. The GS-9 level provides an opportunity for professional development and progression to higher levels of responsibility.
The major duties described above are representative of the work performed at the GS-11 level. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Computer Scientist (Artificial Intelligence) GS-1550-9/11, positions with a full performance level to the GS13, within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
