This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Acquisition and Grants Management. As a Contract Specialist, GS-1102-11, you will be responsible for pre/post-award duties such as price/cost analysis and administration for services, materials, and equipment for Health & Human Services (HHS) organizations.
Prepare solicitation documents which incorporate required Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and HHS policies and provisions.
Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: A. Possess a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field from an accredited college or university. (NOTE: official or unofficial transcripts must be submitted at time of application; if selected, official transcripts will be required.); OR B.
Completed at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (NOTE: official or unofficial transcripts must be submitted at time of application; if selected, official transcripts will be required.) OR C.
Exception: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. Employees who occupy GS-1102 positions at grades 5 through 12 will be considered to meet the basic requirements for other GS-1102 positions up to and including those classified at GS-12. This includes positions at other agencies and promotions up through grade 12.
However, employees must meet specialized experience requirements when seeking another position. (NOTE: SF-50s confirming this status must be submitted at the time of application.) TRANSCRIPTS (official or unofficial) are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above. Failure to submit a copy of your transcripts at the time of application WILL result in an ineligible rating.
