About the position: This position will be assigned to the - Little Rock AFB, AR -Child Development Center. This position is guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours but can be scheduled to a maximum of 20-34 hours per week. Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort in lifting up to 45 pounds or pushing carts. Constantly standing and walking.
Boils, bakes, fries, and broils meats, fish, and poultry by watching the item cooking; turning as required, regulating temperature, and removing when done. Adjusts standardized recipes for large quantity cooking. Maintains proper temperature for all food during holding, transport, reheating, and serving to ensure food safety. Washes and cleans kitchen equipment. Assists in training guidelines on new policy and procedures.
Responsible for meal preparation/serving of all meals and snacks in specified quantities to meet Air Force requirements related to Air Force Childcare Food Programs. Prepares an Air Force Form 287 for the Director's review and approval for purchasing food. Purchases supplies weekly. Assists in preparing USDA forms CCFP-6 and food counts. Submits reports to the CDC Director for review. Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as required.
Responsible for general food sanitation of the kitchen. Maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen/dining room areas during scheduled hours of duty. Follows posted menu. Informs Child Development Center Director of any necessary menu changes for recording. Provides food for other staff members for field trips and cooking experiences for the children in the center. Uses Air Force-approved seasonal cycle menus and rotates on the approved schedule.
Provides nutritionally equivalent substitutions for children with food allergies/sensitivities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
This position is with Air Mobility Command, Department of the Air Force.
The posted pay range is $21.69 – $25.28/hr.
