Key Responsibilities

This position is located in the Administrative Remedy Section, Office of General Counsel in the Bureau of Prison's Central Office. Charged with overseeing the operation of the Bureau's inmate grievance system, reviewing inmate appeals of decisions of Wardens and Regional Directors and assessing the need for change in Bureau policies based on trends in inmate grievances.

Conducts a variety of analyses to identify trends or anomalies in responses and procedures, and determines the need for policy refinement and development based on results of these analyses. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
