Job Summary

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

Key Responsibilities

As a CWMD Planner at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as an Agency countering WMD (CWMD) planner providing strategy, policy, doctrine and planning expertise. Accomplishes broad analytical efforts upon which DTRA and the Plans & Programs Department develop plans, strategy, and doctrine, as well as programs, policies, procedures and systems determinations related to military CWMD missions and national security strategies.

Develop, plan, prepare, coordinate, staff, and presents DTRA, directorate, and department positions on CWMD-related campaign plans affecting the OSW, JS, CCMDs, DoW Components, Military Services, and Defense Agencies. Independently plan and complete projects principally related to Joint Staff, CCMD, and DTRA operations, activities, and initiatives requiring significant research and analysis.

Prepare and present decision papers, briefing materials, speeches, and correspondence for senior officials within DTRA, DoW and/or JS, and the US Government lnteragency. Conduct/support special projects, compartmented plans, and assignments to assist in the overall accomplishment of DTRA mission requirements.

Conduct critical research and analysis for highly sensitive or controversial projects that will establish a significant Agency precedent and involve divergent and conflicting views from principal stakeholders. Develop appropriate implementation plans, and prepares, coordinates, staffs, and presents DTRA positions with respect to these projects.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
