As a Data Scientist, you will perform the following duties: Lead operational assignments related to management, upkeep, improvement, and analysis of human resource data. Conduct data mining and big data analytics to improve National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) mission and leverages project-tracking data to provide operational insights to NOAA's diverse workforce. Conduct analysis in a programming or statistical software suite such as: R, Python, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, PowerBI, etc. to build complex predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to better understand current and future employee behavior, partnering with outside vendors on use of Artificial Intelligence (Al) to drive stronger people insights. Provide authoritative instruction and guidance to lower level data scientists. Consult with and provide, expert level advice to customers and other National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) personnel on the use and interpretation of data, while leading and monitoring the creation of visually appealing, insightful and concise presentations for senior leadership. Manage work, track progress of scientific studies and communicate progress to team leads.
