Job Summary

The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System, Dental Service, is currently recruiting three (3) Dental Assistants located in Oklahoma City, OK. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until 09/30/2026 or until all positions are filled

Major Duties

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Sets up operatory and/or surgery suite for planned dental procedures and cleans dental unit for timely turnover. Receives and prepares patients for treatment including seating, positioning chair, and placing napkin. Performs disinfection and sterilizing procedures. Prepares procedural trays/armamentaria setups. Performs basic chairside assistance with direct instruction from the treating dentist. Keeps operative field clear of debris and retracts oral tissues effectively and comfortably. Accomplishes all intra-operative procedures within standard infection-control protocols. Assists in routine general dental procedures. Maintains a field of operation during dental procedures using retraction, suction, irrigation, drying, placing, and removing cotton rolls. Provides patient-preventative education and oral hygiene instruction. Maintains dental equipment per manufacturer instructions and dental service standards. Relays patient concerns to the dentist. x Performs other duties as required. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
