Key Responsibilities

As Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Office of Intelligence, you will assist the Assistant Commissioner, Office of Intelligence, in leading an organization that provides strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence to the Office of Field Operations, U.S. Border Patrol, Air and Marine Operations, and Office of Trade. You will share responsibility for overall coordination of CBP's Intelligence Enterprise.

You will oversee intelligence support to address terrorism threats and curb the influx of drugs from beyond our borders, providing critical intelligence with respect to illegal migration at U.S. borders and beyond, in a challenging operational environment. You will support complex law enforcement operations to provide strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence that is responsive, consistent, predictable and repeatable.

You will oversee a staff of national experts in the area of intelligence analysis to enhance passenger and cargo targeting for air, sea, and land operations in the inbound and outbound environment, delivering intelligence to support the field in processing passengers and goods at U.S. borders.

You will ensure close integration of strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence with CBP's National Targeting Center, the Office of Intelligence, and other intelligence entities, thereby providing CBP with a holistic and integrated threat picture to promote sound operational planning and response. Requirements & Education

There is no education requirement for this position. You will be evaluated on the quality and extent of your total accomplishments and experience. Your resume will be evaluated by a rating and ranking panel, and highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and a reference check. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection will review results and make recommendations on final selections to the appointing authority.

Unless you have already been certified by a Qualifications Review Board (QRB) in the past, your ECQs must be certified by a QRB before an appointment can occur.
