Job Summary

The Department of Energy is seeking an experienced, innovative Executive to lead the Office of Enterprise Assessment (EA), which is part of the Office of Management (MA). We are the best-in-class operational engine driving DOE to deliver on our mission with speed, precision, and accountability.

The Deputy Director is responsible for the development and execution of independent oversight, safety training, and enforcement to safeguard DOE assets, workers, and critical operations complex-wide.

Key Responsibilities

As the Deputy Director Office of Enterprise Assessments, you will: Serves as the Deputy Director, assuming complete operational and administrative control of the Office of Enterprise Assessments in the Director's absence, and directing strategic planning, resource allocation, internal controls, and organizational continuous improvement across all EA elements.

Directs the execution of DOE's Independent Oversight Program, providing senior leaders, congress, and stakeholders with rigorous, objective evaluations regarding the adequacy of DOE policy and line management effectiveness in environment, safety, and health, physical and cyber security, emergency management, and nuclear and industrial safety.

Manages the implementation of the Department's expanded, Congressionally mandated regulatory enforcement program, leading investigative and oversight capabilities designed to enforce compliance and drive systemic improvements in worker safety and health, nuclear safety, and security complex-wide.

Oversees the DOE National Training Center (NTC), ensuring the integration of operational lessons learned and continuous improvement insights into high-quality, effective safety and security training curriculums for DOE Federal and contractor personnel nationwide.

Directs comprehensive internal and external outreach programs, forging collaborative relationships with DOE line elements, external oversight bodies, and professional organizations to communicate safety and security performance, solicit feedback, and align EA strategies with complex-wide priorities.

Directs the continuous identification and analysis of cross-cutting policy issues, performance trends, and emerging risks across the DOE complex, providing high-level technical advice and strategic forecasting to senior Departmental leadership to proactively mitigate safety and security vulnerabilities.
