The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) Clinical Instructor position is located at the Chillicothe, Ohio VA Medical Center, in the Diagnostic Integrated Care Community (ICC) Service Line. The incumbent performs radiographic examination procedures, computed tomography (CT) examinations and is responsible for the oversight of all affiliated Educational Radiologic Technology Programs and clinical students.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform technical work in support of diagnostic radiology and is responsible for the oversight of all affiliated educational radiologic technology programs. Instruct, teach, mentor and evaluate all radiologic technology students. Provide optimal image quality in general radiography and in computed tomography. Perform proper procedures to obtain, transmit and store radiographic images within Picture Achieving & Communication System (PACS). Explain exams to patients so that the patient understands what is to be done. Assist radiologists in fluoroscopic examinations. Practice radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patient, staff and self. Maintain records and files of exams performed on patients within Electronic Health Records Management systems. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Telework: Not Available. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
