The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography) position will report to the Radiology Service within the Memphis VA Medical Center and perform computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest and body. The purpose of these exams is to achieve diagnostic studies to bring about proper diagnosis and treatment. Incumbent will be required to work variable shifts. On-call may be required. Incumbent may be required to work different modalities.
The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Computed Tomography) position will report to the Radiology Service within the Memphis VA Medical Center and perform computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest and body. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures and rearranges patient priorities to accommodate. Assures that sterile supplies, contrast material, catheters and other required supplies are adequate and in date. Monitors the examination by checking computations, performances and results of the selected parameters to obtain the best data and images. Performs technical operation and general technical maintenance of the computer, disk drives, console and imaging devices. Assists in preparation of procedure manuals and assist in devising or modifying procedures as necessary. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; Variable Tours including weekends: 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 4:00pm to 12:00(midnight), and 12:00am (midnight) to 8:00am.
