The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is looking for an experienced senior level executive to serve as the Director, Division 1. The Division Director reports directly to the Office Director.
The Division Director supports and assists the Office Director and Office Deputy Director in providing vision and leadership in the development and execution of economic and technical analyses, reports and outreach, associated with the wholesale and interstate energy markets under FERC jurisdiction. Supports the development of the Commission's strategic plan and performance targets; and the development of the Office's mission and vision statements, goals, and strategic plans.
Initiates and oversees economic and technical analyses and reports involving Commission-jurisdictional matters, including under the Federal Power Act, the Natural Gas Act, the Natural Gas Policy Act, the Interstate Commerce Act, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
Supports other program offices with technical and economic analyses in the development of proposed orders, policies, strategies, and regulations for wholesale and interstate energy markets for the Commission's consideration. Establishes effective teams among diverse professional disciplines, including engineering, economics, accounting, attorneys and energy industry analysts, to develop and execute relevant analyses, reports and outreach.
Advises the Chairman and Commissioners on current economic and technical issues relating to the Commission's regulation of the energy industries. Assists in preparing responses to Congressional and public inquiries and, if requested, assists in the writing of testimony and speeches for the Commissioners affecting the energy industry activities regulated by the Commission.
Conducts outreach and coordinates with the applicable Federal agencies; other governments; state agencies and regulators including the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC); the RTOs/ISO and their market monitors; market participants and customers to further the Commission's work. Represents the Office and Commission at meetings, conferences, and other outreach activities.
