As the Director Field Operations (South Central), Western Compliance you will assist the Director of Western Compliance in coordinating complex tax administration services to meet the needs of large and mid-sized businesses and individuals with international activity.
The Director Field Operations South Central Western Compliance performs the following duties and responsibilities: Formulates short and long-range program policies, strategies, and objectives on matters relating to the Western Compliance practice area. Studies compliance issues within the Western Compliance practice area; suggests campaigns to be included in the work plan; and provides leadership for the execution of examinations.
Promotes collaboration within the Western Compliance practice area and with other LB&I functions. This includes working with Counsel to develop guidance and improve compliance strategies. Provides executive leadership and direction through subordinate managers that are geographically located within the practice area. Delegates sufficient authority to subordinates to effectively manage their resources and to provide a supportive environment for creativity and innovation.
Manages all human, physical, information technology, and financial resources of the assigned area and allocates these resources in accordance with overall strategies to further the accomplishment of specific goals. Continuously evolves to keep pace with LB&I's filing population, which competes in a dynamic, rapidly changing, global economy.
Stays abreast of a broad range of current developments, trends, policy considerations, legislative proposals and legal matters, and the effect of these on Federal tax administration. Remains aware of the internal climate that affects IRS policies and collaborates with other IRS executives in setting priorities and objectives for LB&I.
Cultivates an environment of continuous learning to support a flexible workforce with focused training, foundational skillsets, specialized knowledge, and dynamic tools. Utilizes data analytics and examiner feedback to select better work with intended compliance outcomes. Gathers, assesses, and incorporates feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Employs an integrated set of tailored treatment streams to improve flexibility to address current and emerging issues and achieve compliance outcomes. Drives continual collection and analysis of data and feedback to enhance ability to focus, plan, and execute work, and promote innovation and feedback-based improvement.
