Job Summary

The Department of Energy's (DOE) CMEI Assistant Secretary for Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation is looking for a dynamic, innovative, seasoned executive to lead and serve as the Director, Office of Budget to provide strategic leadership, effective administration, and exemplary customer service in budget execution, formulation, and resource stewardship, supporting world-class scientific research and development within the Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI).

Major Duties

As the Director, Office of Budget, you will: Lead CMEI budget planning and execution involving complex funding. Develop strategic plans, set internal controls for effectiveness and innovation, assess organizational policies and projects, and determine resource needs to achieve mission goals. Oversee fiscal year budget development, implementation, and prepare annual operating plans and reports for DOE, OMB, and Congress. Advise on complex financial issues, analyze emerging budgetary challenges, and recommend solutions. Direct evaluations of CMEI budget strategies and manages the creation and distribution of policy and guidance materials for CMEI budget analysts and operations staff. Review and approve documentation needed to process budget estimates, apportionments, allotments, reprogrammings, and obligations needed to finance CMEI programs or program/functional changes brought about by legislative action. Prepare executive reports and presentations for DOE, OMB, GAO and Congress. Reconcile financial data monthly to ensure accuracy, transparency, accountability, and prepares monthly and/or ad hoc Status-of-Funds reports.
