As Director, Office of Outreach Programs and Engagement, the incumbent supports the Associate Administrator (AA) for Railroad Safety in advancing the mission of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) with regard to railroad safety. As a senior member of the Associate Administrator's leadership team, the Director is a primary source of executive advice and leadership for Office of Outreach Programs and Engagement.
As the Director, you will: Initiate necessary action or directs corrective measures when rate of progress and/or accomplishments are not satisfactory. Provide executive leadership over the State Railroad Safety Partnership Program. Provide oversight for the training and certification of State railroad safety inspectors.
Direct resource allocation systems, workload projections, and inspection and outreach coverage standards designed to optimize the utilization of staffing in achieving safe practices at grade crossing and along the railroad right-of-way. Lead development and implementation of Programs' human capital plans, consistent with Office- wide and FRA-wide plans and available resources.
Review budgetary input, making recommendations as to whether proposed expenditures should be revised to ensure the maximum efficiency of funds under current operating conditions.
