Major Duties

Summary The Primary purpose of the position is to assist with the oversight and coordinate specialized developmental care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age in the child development program. To serve as a senior educational technician and provide support and guidance to appropriated fund (APF) employees, nonappropriated fund (NAF) employees, and other employees as assigned. Facilitates appropriate instruction for children in assigned areas of responsibility. The incumbent may be designated as the supervisor on duty, as needed, in operation of the center during extended hours and in the absence of the Assistant Director and/or Director. Duties Explains team goals and objectives to assigned team members and assist team in organizing to accomplish work. Coaches, facilitates, solves work problems and participates in the work of the team. Provides age-appropriate developmental care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Ensures a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all children. Prepares daily activities for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age that supports the inclusion of children with special needs. Special needs may include children/youth with or at risk of disabilities, chronic illnesses and physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions that require health and related services of a type or amount beyond that required by children in general.
