The typical seasonal periods are as follows, but can be variable due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding: Yellowstone National Park: February to May Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: February to August Grand Canyon National Park: March to September Open to the first 150 applicants or until 09/21/2026 whichever comes first. Duties may vary by specific park. Serves as a primary instructor for the park's curriculum based residential program and other education/youth work programs. Works closely with schools, teachers, and students. Directs and coordinates all aspects of the day-to-day operations and activities. Plans, coordinates, and conducts formal education outreach at schools and community and educational events.
Schedules on and offsite educational and outreach presentations for school groups. Supports resource-based education and community outreach efforts. The incumbent will support the development of curriculum-based programming for students, including program outlines, teacher guides, evaluation tools, and distance learning resources. Assists with leading a team of seasonals, interns, and volunteers.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign education programs and that (1) deemed your education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program, or (2) given full credit for courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
