Job Summary

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in the Infrastructure Delivery team (TEGA) of Transmission Engineering Grid Expansion (TEG), Engineering and Technical Services (TE), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). A successful candidate in the Electrical Engineer position will serve as a Substation Engineering Coordinator and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you will: Serve as the primary coordinator and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for complex substation engineering capital projects, supporting a Transmission-wide strategy for capital project delivery. Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals, prepares detailed engineering Statements of Work (SOWs), and provides rigorous technical verification of contract milestones.

Provide technical review, oversight, and quality assurance of complex project designs, physical substation layouts, and construction packages. Coordinate, schedule, and track multi-faceted design and construction packages to ensure all substation engineering layouts, electrical bus work, grounding, schematics, and equipment selections are fully integrated, technically sound, and compliant with BPA transmission standards, industry codes, and safety requirements.

Ensure all engineering packages meet project-specific requirements, grid integration parameters, and BPA standards. Monitor contractor performance, resolve technical design deviations or contract non-conformance issues under BPI protocols, and ensures that delivered systems meet safety and utility-grade performance criteria.
