This position is located within Engineering Service at the Hudson Valley Health Care System, Castle Point campus.The purpose of this position is the preventive maintenance and inspection of patient wards and all other areas located throughout the Hudson Valley Health Care facilities. May require travel to the CBOCs and each campus to perform the functions of the position description.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Installation, maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of electrical wiring systems associated with fixtures, equipment in industrial, institutional, office and residential buildings, which includes replacing bulbs, resetting breakers and replacing ballast. Incumbent clears stoppage in sinks, toilets, and drains. He or she responds to water leaks of any kind.
Replaces ceiling tile and floor tile that have been damaged, broken or stained. Replacement of televisions and television arms. Minor repairs to doors, handrails etc. Works with electrical components to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair/replace light bulbs, ballast, fixtures, controls and switches.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on facility equipment to include, but not limited to; beds, stretchers, scales, exam tables, which includes disconnecting/connecting electrical control wires and sensors. Incumbent makes visual, audible, electrical and mechanical checks on various refrigeration systems.
Incumbent will assist journeymen painters by using, supplying, or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment while doing painting jobs within the interior and exterior of the facility. Other duties as assigned.
