Description of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to provide electronic engineering support, serve as the SLD 45 technical representative for a variety of programs and provide subject matter expertise to the SLD, SSC, HHQ and launch customers concerning Eastern Range (ER) instrumentation systems, improvement and modernization.
Ideal Candidate: - Extensive scientific and technical knowledge of Range instrumentation, and at least 18 months experience working with Eastern Range systems is highly desirable. - Experience in test and evaluation. - Ability to work effectively in stressful situations. - Excellent analytical and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to explain complex technical issues and policy to a non-technical audience comprised of senior Wing management, representatives from other Wing and governmental agencies, and contractor personnel. - Extensive knowledge of the role, mission, and goals of SLD 45. - Knowledge of advanced technology available for acquisition and SLD 45 use.
- Ability to develop new Range concepts, programs, and procedures; and direct investigative studies of these technologies - Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions. - Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.
