This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Yard, Industrial Department, Electro Group in Baltimore MD. This is a term appointment not to exceed 13 months. However, an extension is possible up to 4 years total an or can be converted to permanent without further consideration.
You will be responsible for learning the common and most typical job assignments of the trade. Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member. Typical duties include: * Removing and installing cabling that have been disconnected from marine crafts and other assignments and re-pulling/running cable through ships. * Interpreting material specifications, use handbooks, tables, and other similar data relating to your work.
* Providing basic tasking for construction and repair required for accomplishing all Electrical and Electronic operations along with Yard objectives. * Assisting in installing radars, electronic countermeasures, IFF/TACN (Crypto Systems), Navigational Systems, radio directional finders. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.
