As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-12/13, you will: This position works within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Avionics Element, Avionics Shop, Communications/Navigation/ECM, or Guidance and Control shop. It is an Air National dual status technician position that requires military membership, compatible military skill assignment and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems.
For the WG-13 ANG Dual Status Technician position, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of an Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and successful On-the-Job training that will result or resulted in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC. STATEMENT OF DIFFERENCE: An applicant who meets the experience and educational requirements for entry at WG-12 level for an electronic integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-12, position description (PD) D2325000, will have an individual development plan (IDP) established for them. This plan will be designed to provide the individual selected with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and hone their skills relating to the electronic integrated system trades which they will be performing for promotion to the full operating level of the electronic integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-13, PD D2240P01. The incumbent was competitively selected to fill the position at this lower grade level. Promotion to the target grade position may be considered as a career promotion in accordance with applicable regulations, after qualifications, eligibility requirements, and completion of a locally developed IDP. The Supervisor and the next higher level supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the incumbent is performing the full scope of duties and has the skill requirements associated with the electronics integrated systems mechanic, WG-2610-13, PD D2240P01, prior to allowing the individual to be promoted.
