This position is located within the Office of Protection Services, Office of the Administrator, National Gallery of Art (AOP). The incumbent works under the direct guidance of the AOP Senior Technician and is under the direct supervision of the Head of Technical Services.
The Office of Protective Services, Technical Services (AOPT) oversees the installation, programming, modification, calibration, alignment, fabrication, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electronic systems at the National Gallery of Art. Duties for this position include: Installing, programming, modifying, calibrating, aligning, fabricating, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining AOPT systems as required to maintain optimum performance.
Providing subject matter expertise in the planning, design and integrating of electronic security systems. Installing and de-installing temporary electronic security for special events and art shows. Installing electronic conduit including rigid and flexible, metal and non-metallic types. Installing, terminating, and testing conductors and cabling for circuits less than 50V AC/DC including Ethernet cabling.
