Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide emergency fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintains accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response.
Key Responsibilities
Provides emergency 911 call taking and dispatching services, assessing the nature of emergencies to deploy the appropriate response forces according to established matrix and/or checklists. Performs Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) services to callers with medical emergencies. Maintains critical emergency maps, checklists, charts, and automated mapping programs used during search and rescue and hazardous materials operations to support responding emergency personnel.
Prepares and maintains comprehensive reports and records for emergency responses, which includes drafting both Department of Defense (DoD) Incident Reports and local database management reports utilizing appropriate response codes and categories in compliance with published guidelines.
