Job Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Diesel Engineer on a 85'X30' 2560 HP diesel powered towboat engaged in towing, snagging, dredging, and channel maintenance, lock and dam maintenance, and normal or emergency operations. Works under the supervision of the towboat supervisor.
NOTE: Assigned to MV Strong.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the continued operation and maintenance of the engine room, making periodic checks of engine room machinery, auxiliary plants, electrical systems, refrigerating, plumbing and heating systems, machinery, auxiliary equipment, and etc.
