The primary purpose of this position is to Serves as an Environmental Manager in the Environmental Management Directorate of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), a Primary Subordinate Unit (PSU).
1. Provides professional environmental expertise to directorate team members and the installations. Initiates, develops, sets specific objectives, and evaluates performance of AFCEC and installation environmental programs to ensure compliance with pertinent governmental policies, directives, instructions, applicable laws, headquarters, installations, environmental regulatory agencies, sister services, and non-governmental organizations. 2.
Provides consultation and advisory services in support of environmental administrative issues. Validates and approves installation environmental program evaluations for mission changes, unit realignments, reports, and correspondence submitted by higher headquarters, lateral or subordinate regions, and installations. Disseminates new regulations and regulatory changes.
Makes significant recommendations based on expertise of the technical fields involved, as well as knowledge of established DoD, AF, and government policy and criteria. 3. Communicates critical issues to other division members, serviced installations, and superiors. Develops and presents briefing packages and prepares a variety of related reports. 4. Provides direction to a team of environmental professionals.
As a senior member, the incumbent provides specific direction regarding member assignments, project team direction, work prioritization, and scheduling to execute specific environmental programs.
