This position is located in the Chinle Service Unit, Division of Public Health, Population Health Department, in Chinle, Arizona. The primary purpose is to provide day-to-day technical and strategic direction for epidemiological studies involving data collection, analysis, and visualization of infections, acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, occupational hazards, and other population health concerns.
A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Provides scientific and technical leadership in epidemiology, advising on healthcare programs, epidemiologic studies, risk factors, data analysis, disease prevention, and complex public health issues in collaboration with Federal, State, governmental, nonprofit, and private organizations.
Designs and conducts epidemiological studies, surveys, and investigations; analyzes health data using statistical methods, modeling, data visualization, and program evaluation; assesses program effectiveness and coordinates improvements with program specialists and medical institutions.
Develops public health education materials, statistical programs, manuscripts, presentations, and grant reports; monitors grant and contract timelines, expenditures, and deliverables; and communicates findings to public health, medical, and professional audiences.
