This vacancy is for a GS-1670-9, Equipment Specialist located in the in Glen Burnie, MD.
You will serve as an Equipment Specialist and be responsible for ensuring accurate maintenance and configuration records for U.S. Coast Guard assets. Collects, analyzes, and maintains technical equipment data, provides guidance to field personnel, and supports equipment maintenance, repair, and asset management programs. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Maintaining accurate maintenance, configuration, and supply data in Coast Guard Information systems. Providing technical guidance to field personnel on equipment maintenance procedures, scheduling, and compliance requirements. Managing inventory, parts requisitions, material distribution, and supply operations to support equipment readiness.
Collecting, analyzing, and maintaining technical documentation and prepares maintenance and supply reports. Assisting in identifying equipment quality deficiencies, investigating defective parts, and recommending corrective actions.
