This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS). Under the direction of an Assistant Regional Director, the incumbent is principally responsible for the activities related to IT examinations and other IT related business in the Region. The duty location will be determined upon selection and is subject to space availability. The position may be filled at any FDIC Field Office within the Dallas region. Reviews IT examination reports and related correspondence for substance to ensure the report conclusions and assigned ratings are supported by the data and that the examiner properly presented recommendations.
Identifies IT data centers and servicers which do or may present supervisory problems, determines the extent of supervision needed, makes recommendations to the Regional Director for correction in such situations and prepares summaries and reports to be sent to the Washington Office and maintained in the IT Examination Tracking System.
Provides advice, counsel, and guidance to field IT and safety and soundness Examiners on special IT situations, and Case Managers on IT examinations, and the coverage and preparation of IT reports.
Prepares a summary of findings for permanent records and prepares cover letters to the Washington Office, State Banking Department(s), other Federal Supervisory Agencies and the service provider for transmitting copies of the reports with a summary of significant aspects of the case. Initiates follow-up of service provider deficiencies and handling IT correspondence and telephone inquiries. Responsible for maintaining the Region's IT Examination Tracking System.
Schedules IT examination activities for the Region including liaison with other Federal and State Supervisory Authorities on IT matters, Schedules examinations of service providers, which operate multiple sites, involving the participation of multiple regions and agencies in the examination. Meets with or participates in meetings with financial institution Directors, and other high-level banking and service provider officials In IT problem situations.
Involved in examinations of service providers, serviced departments and serviced banks including large, complex or problem data centers and data centers examined under the Significant Service Provider Program. Participates in FDIC and Interagency IT conferences and sysmposiums, professional IT seminars, conferences, and educational programs.
Also, may serve as an instructor in the FDIC's various IT training courses or as a coach in the FDIC's Information Technology On-The-Job training program.
