Job Summary

The Executive Director of the Facilities and Requirements strategic division serves as the principal advisor to VHA leadership on capital asset management programs across the VHA enterprise. The ED of Facilities and Requirements reports directly to the Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Health. The incumbent is responsible for the development and coordination of VHA requirements for construction, leasing, real property acquisition, and non-recurring maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

1. The Executive Director (ED) of the Facilities and Requirements strategic division serves as the principal advisor to VHA leadership on capital asset management programs across the VHA enterprise. The ED Facilities and Requirements reports directly to the Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Health (ADUSH). 2.

The incumbent is responsible for the development and coordination of VHA requirements for construction, leasing, real property acquisition, and non-recurring maintenance that resu1lt in cost efficient, timely delivery of essential facility and building resources. 3. Provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for Facilities and Requirements major programs.

Develops and maintains policy oversight for VHA construction, leasing, real property ac1uisition, non-recurring maintenance, architecture design, and space management programs that complies with VA policy, federal regulations, and industry benchmarks. 4.

Responsible tor developing and maintaining a comprehensive policy framework to advance innovative, modernized healthcare environment for VHA's 1,380 health care facilities, 1,193 outpatient sites of care, and portfolio of headquarters and regional administrative office space. Ensures that component functions and programs are effectively implemented by the 140 employees within the incumbent's span of control. 5.

Maintains strategic alignment with the USH, DUSH, ADUSH, Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN), and Medical Operations Center (MOC) through continuous communication channels that enable coordinated decision-making, policy development, and implementation strategies to address short- and long-term priorities, address issues and trends, andsupport consistent execution across VHA's health care delivery system. 6.

Collaborates with the ED for Strategic Planning, ED for Business Office, and Chief Financial Officer to ensure the Facilities and Requirement program short and long-term goals, objectives, and priorities are integrated with VHA level strategic, human capital, and financial plans. Ensures that VHA's physical space needs are effectively implementedand result in high-quality health care environments and safe, cost-effective facilityoperations.

Requirements & Education
