The primary purpose of this position is to serve as explosives safety manager for Combat Air Force (CAF) nuclear surety and convention munitions policies, procedures and inspections.

Responsible for unit evaluations, inspection program manager planning,organizing, administering and evaluating programs involving diverse environmental, nuclear, explosives.

Key Responsibilities

Serves as the Combat Air Force (CAF) Explosives Safety Manager with duties, responsibilities, and authorities to oversee, manage, plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, and coordinate comprehensive Federal, DoD, and Air Force nuclear and weapons safety programs engaged in very complex activities which critically affect a MAJCOM military readiness program.

Provides technical and policy CAF weapons safety expertise regarding Federal, DoD, DoE, DoT, NATO, Host Nation, and Air Force safety criteria with responsibility covering diverse weapons systems and a large population spanning an entire command program which includes personnel and resources throughout the United States and abroad.

Exercises command-wide responsibility for CAF nuclear and explosives mishap response and investigation, to include planning, directing, and advising, on all nuclear and explosives safety related events as required by Federal, DoD, and Air Force instructions, directives, policies, standards, and requirements. Develops and coordinates technical safety training/instructions for subordinate units/organizations.

Responsible for unit evaluations and inspections of weapons/weapons systems for a command safety program covering widely dispersed and diversified activities.
