Job Summary

NIST is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to serve as the NIST Export Control Manager. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive export control compliance program. This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will serve as a principal member of the NIST research security office. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct risk assessments for NIST IR 8484r1, titled Safeguarding International Science: Research Security Framework, and develop mitigation strategies. Assess, develop, and implement NIST-wide export control policy and procedures. Collect and analyze data on export control regulations and compliance.

Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve NIST's export compliance program. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations detailing analytical findings, compliance assessments, and recommendations to improve export control measures. Review a variety of funding awards and agreements with government, academic, and industry partners for regulatory compliance. Create and approve NIST Technology Control Plans with NIST researchers.

Requirements & Education

This position has an education requirement. Transcripts must be submitted to validate that the education requirement has been met. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package.
