This position is with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Operational Support Facilities Division.
The BPAM PMO is within the OSF Division, which is responsible for overseeing the planning, construction, maintenance, repairs, operations, and sustainment of OFAM's facilities. This position is located within the Operational Support Facilities (OSF) Division, which oversees CBP's large, complex, and diverse frontline operations facilities for the Air and Marine Operations (AMO), the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), and the Office of Field Operations (OFO).
As primary liaison to OFAM Business Partners, OSF executes its core business functions with the following overarching priorities: providing safe and secure facilities, leading major and minor construction planning and execution, and exercising stewardship through appropriate maintenance and operations and responding to unexpected operational emergencies.
The Facility Operations Specialist manages and coordinates complex facility operations, maintenance, repair, and improvement projects for CBP's Border Patrol and Air and Marine facilities. The position provides technical and project-management expertise, develops scopes of work and cost estimates, monitors contractor performance, and oversees the lifecycle maintenance of building systems, utilities, grounds, and related infrastructure.
Typical Work assignments include: Provides guidance on facility operations, maintenance, and project management, including review of project documents for completeness and accuracy. Determines courses of action to address program changes, technology updates, unforeseen events, and conflicting facility requirements. Monitors contractor schedules, work completion, performance, deliverables, and compliance with contract requirements.
Develops statements of work, cost estimates, and supporting contract documentation for facility repairs, maintenance, alterations, or improvement projects. Uses facility management, cost estimating, scheduling, and document review tools to track maintenance requests, asset data, work orders, project milestones, and construction documents.
