The Facility Program Manager (Informatics) is responsible for coordinating and managing initiatives and program development for VA St. Louis related to pharmacy computer programs and activities. The pharmacist manages and coordinates all assigned pharmacy programs, initiatives, program development, and reporting related to the electronic health record. Develops, implements, and manages programs, databases and information systems related to medication, to include participation in the development of disease management and population health programs. Analyzes and designs reporting tools that assess service impacts on patient care, quality of care, cost containment and performance. Designs and coordinates the implementation of decision analysis tools, including the development of outcome instruments (quantitative and qualitative). Participates in and develops policies, procedures, audit systems, etc. to determine trends, produce data, and monitor performance for the Pharmacy Service. Actively evaluates short and long-term needs of pharmacy software and hardware. Serves as an active member of Healthcare Technology and Medical Informatics Committee. Participates in Peer Review, Root Cause Analysis, Adverse Event Reporting and Review and other related programs or practices that improve the quality and safety of patient care. Serves as educator and trainer for VA St. Louis for Veterans Information System and Technology Architecture (VistA) packages, FileMan reporting, Pyramid Analytics, SQL testing and related reporting tools and software packages. Participates in the precepting and mentoring of pharmacy residents and students. Work Schedule: Full-time, 0800-1630 Telework: Ad-hoc telework may be available.
