Job Summary

As a Financial Management Specialist with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Services, you will perform cash and fund management activities, monitor receipts and disbursements, reconcile financial records, analyze financial data, support investment activities, prepare reports, and identify opportunities to improve financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage cash flow activities, including estimating disbursement needs, monitoring receipts and deposits, supporting investment decisions, and ensuring funds are available for payments. Control and monitor the receipt, deposit, disbursement, and investment of funds; reconcile financial activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.

Certify payment and disbursement requests and ensure financial transactions comply with applicable requirements and established financial controls. Analyze financial reports, records, and data to identify discrepancies, trends, operational issues, and opportunities to improve financial processes. Maintain and reconcile financial records and general ledger activity; monitor financial operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.

Prepare financial and program reports, forecasts, estimates, and supporting analyses for management and other stakeholders. Coordinate with internal and external organizations to resolve financial issues involving collections, deposits, disbursements, investments, and other fund management activities.
