This vacancy is for a GS-0501-9, Financial Services Specialist located in the the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE CAPE COD COMPTROLLER and BASE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT in BUZZARDS BAY, MA.
You will serve as a Financial Services Specialist and be responsible for assisting the Comptroller in providing professional accounting services and performing a full range of reconciliation and analysis function in the execution and oversite of Base Cape Cod's multi-million dollar operating expense budget.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Assists with the oversight of budgeting and the accompanying maintenance of official accounting records.. Completes cost analysis, internal controls and compiling required reports.. Reviews financial activities to determine adherence to current policies and procedures.. Monitors and conducts extensive analysis of finances to identify real or potential situations of impropriate, ensuring proper Coast Guard financial procedures are adhered to.
