This position is located in Region One / Grants Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge of fire program and grants management laws, regulations, and policies, and an understanding of business and industry grant practices; experience in fire service, grant program analysis, and providing technical advice and recommendations.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will be responsible for executing, planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating Regional implementation of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) as defined in the Fire Prevention and Control Act, as amended. Typical assignments include: Advising and provides technical assistance and customer service to grant applicants and recipients.
Representing the Region as a recognized fire programs authority and subject matter expert on a variety of task forces, working groups, interagency committees, and meetings with state, tribal, and local governments and private organizations.
Facilitating workshops to provide grant application technical assistance, assisting with panel reviews for applications, participating in the grant notification process, presenting post-award orientations, offering turndown notification support, and monitoring grant recipients and program progress reports to ensure the work meets quality and completion time frames.
