Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position, Fire Protection Inspector, GS-0081-09, is to serve as a Fire Protection Specialist, Engineer Technician consultant at the program management level and single point of contact and technical authority relating to fire protection for all base construction and renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities
-Direct, review and coordinate on fire protection engineering and fire prevention requirements in coordination with Fire Protection Engineers (FPE). -Determine the need for fire suppression systems, fire detection systems, and fire reporting systems for existing and new facilities in coordination with the assigned Professional Engineer (PE).
-Serve as a point of contact in providing fire protection guidance to Professional Engineers for Contracting, Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Material Command (AFMC), National Guard Bureau, Air Force Reserve tenants, and AF and other base organizations. -Provide technical advice to the Fire Chief regarding the effect of both immediate and long-range planning programs related to fire protection engineering.
-Perform duties as Incident Safety Officer (ISO), participates within the incident management system as a command staff member and response to emergency in accordance with SOP/SOG to emergency incidents.
