You will perform structural firefighting duties at a large industrial facility, station, or installation where the structures, equipment, and operations present complex and hazardous firefighting situations.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows: *Appropriate firefighter training may be substituted for experience on a month-for-month basis* GS-04 I have successful completion of a 2-year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training, Fire Science, or other related fields of study OR I possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent. GS-05 I have successful completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university with major study in Fire Science, Fire Training, or other related fields of study OR I possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent. *** Applicants MUST provide all relevant transcripts needed to verify education substitution for specialized experience.
