Responsible for managing the daily administrative and food service operations of the School Meal Program (SMP) supporting participating schools aboard MCAS Iwakuni. Ensures efficient and timely meal service while maintaining compliance with applicable U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), food safety, sanitation, accountability, and program requirements.
Administers the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program, including application processing, eligibility determinations, verification, and maintenance of confidential program records. Responsible for financial and program accountability, including meal transactions, inventory, ordering, cost controls, reimbursement claims, and required reporting. Ensures records are accurate and timely, identifies discrepancies, and takes corrective action to maintain accountability and compliance.
Plans and coordinates daily meal service, including menus, food production, staffing, serving schedules, food quantities, transportation, deliveries, and adjustments based on school schedules and enrollment. Oversees food service operations and supply requirements and serves as the primary operational point of contact for SMP. Maintains required SMP records and documentation and ensures compliance with inspection, audit, and program requirements.
Coordinates and ensures appropriate implementation of food allergies, special dietary requirements, disabilities, and authorized meal modifications while safeguarding confidential student information. Supervises SMP personnel by preparing work schedules, assigning and distributing work, monitoring staffing, providing training and coaching, evaluating performance, establishing leave schedules, and taking appropriate personnel actions.
Provides World Class Customer Service with emphasis on professionalism, courtesy, and timely resolution of concerns. Complies with applicable safety regulations, sanitation standards, Equal Employment Opportunity principles, prevention of sexual harassment requirements, and established workplace policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance. Performs other duties as assigned.
