About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Bruddah's Brew House on Bellows Air Station.
Prepares a wide variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, expresso, hot chocolate, etc. by selecting proper ingredients. Serves cold beverages and food items, such as soda, juice cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons. Sets up work area for operations and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean.
Sets up/cleans tables for customers and replenish condiment items as necessary. Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours glassware, dishes and utensils as required. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks as required such as; coffee machines, ceilings, under and behind equipment, refrigerators, washes floors and walls, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload stock from delivery trucks.
Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area.
Must be able to follow basic cappuccino requirement of each type of drink including but not limited to, preheating the porta filter, knowing the difference in grinds of coffee, knowing how long should a shot take to brew into a cup, preheating the cup, how to "pull" and "tamp" into then porta filter, differences in frothing and steaming milk, and able to now difference and relay information to customers on the difference in drink choices.
Assists with inventories, identifies items for re-ordering. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
