You will serve as a Maintenance Worker with the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 5, Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, Basom, NY You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Maintenance and repair of vehicles and heavy equipment. Operation of heavy equipment such as agricultural tractors with implements, backhoe, skid steer, and excavator. Performing routine preventative maintenance for buildings and facilities including HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical systems.
Using and maintaining tools and equipment, recording inventory and maintenance, and reporting or documenting equipment damage or loss. Following safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements & Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.
