Job Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. You will serve as a Health Physicist in the Safety Branch at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).

Major Duties

You will implement the radiological safety program at NRL's nuclear particle accelerators and pulsed storage machines.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual for 1306 job series: Applicants must possess: Degree: natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus. or Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in 1. above, plus appropriate experience or other education; or certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, plus appropriate experience and other education that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics comparable to that described above. -- In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following: NP-02 level: 120 credits or a 4-year course of study in natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus.. NP-03 level: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree.
