The Health Science Specialist position is based at the Sepulveda or West Los Angeles Ambulator Care Center & Nursing Home within the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. This position is within Medical Research Services special operations and quality enhance projects.

Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4).

DATA COLLECTION 25% Perform qualitative and quantitative data collection for projects Implement, tract, and manage intervention procedures Report audit/feedback data in appropriate software programs for multiple audiences IRB (Institutional Review Board) ASSISTANCE 30% Apply experience and expertise VA and federal policy, guidelines and regulations related to health services research Act as liaison between Research Service and Medical Center Operations partners to ensure communication relevant to research project compliance CONTRACT MANAGEMENT 20% Prepare contracts, including budget requests and justification Monitor cost, management, and technical performance grants awarded Manage long-term, complex health services and public health related grants PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERABLES 25% Perform task scheduling and monitoring task completion Supervise core project support staff and data collectors, including grant and contract support Organize all administrative aspects of the study, including support of budgets, personnel, compliance, space, and timekeeping Provide technical data management support to entire staff using software like SAS, STATA, R, SQL Track intervention progress at sites through weekly calls/meetings Monitor and schedule baseline site visits and follow up Assist in manuscript write-up Performs other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00AM - 4:30PM Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized
