Job Summary

This position is located at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Shiprock, New Mexico. The position manages the Medical Staff credentialing process, including initial and reappointment applications, temporary privileges, licensure verification, and maintenance of an accurate, confidential database. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Major Duties

Responsible for processing medical staff credentialing and reappointment applications, verifying licensure and privileges, and maintaining accurate and confidential credentialing records. Responds to staff verification requests, monitors license expiration dates, follows up on outstanding licensure requirements, and processes and distributes correspondence appropriately. Develops and maintains MDS orientation to credentialing and privileging Performs all work according to The Joint Commission regulations, Indian Health Service policies, and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations, in direct consultation with the Medical Staff Office Coordinator. Attends Credentials Committee and other designated medical management meetings, maintains accurate meeting minutes, and prepares Governing Body Subcommittee reports.

Education
