The position is located at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and is organizationally aligned to and supervised by the Chief of Quality and Systems Improvement. The position is established within each Medical Center with the intent of developing an infrastructure for lifestyle change as the Veterans Health Administration advances along the journey to full implantation of High Reliability.
Major Duties may include, but not limited to: Program Analysis Conducts studies and special projects to implement health care delivery program and improve the efficiency and reliability throughout the Medical Center. Incumbent may perform budget analysis duties. Conducts analysis of all aspects of current or projected healthcare programs throughout the Medical Center for effectiveness.
Program Management/ Administration and Quality Improvement Serves as the Program Manager supporting new programs/initiatives that align directly with the journey to high reliability which puts Veterans at the center of all process. Programs and initiatives managed are highly visible and political sensitives thereby requiring the incumbent to stay current on all aspects of the initiatives.
Program Consultation The incumbent works in partnership with the National Center for Patient Safety, Office of Systems Redesign and Improvement, Quality Management, Patient Safety Managers, Systems Redesign (Improvement) Coordinator Communicate orally and in writing about complex clinical and non-clinical matters with individuals with varying levels of understanding and authority.
