Job Summary

This position serves as an emergency medical technician (EMT) at the Ft. Belknap Service Unit located in Harlem, Montana. The purpose of the position is to perform basic technical health care extender functions within the emergency medical arena in response to various accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illness. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Recognize the need for ancillary personnel and direct all aspects of patient care and communication in the field for EMT-Intermediate level and below. Perform vehicle maintenance up to and including cleaning and disinfection of each ambulance and equipment daily. Make an independent preliminary assessment of the patients conditions. Conduct a complete advanced examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition.

Requirements & Education

There are no education requirements, however if you are planning to substitute experience with education, you are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package. Official transcripts will be required from all selectees prior to receiving an official offer.

Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be credited.
